Results are presented of an investigation on electric and magnetic fields leaking from inductive (magnetic) heaters that are used for thermal processing of high-power electron tubes and lasers in an industrial plant. Measurements of electric and magnetic fields were done using both commercially available and laboratory-developed instrumentation. Isotropic H-field sensors were developed to allow quantitative evaluation of high-intensity magnetic fields. Ten induction heaters with nominal A.C. power ranging from 2.5 kW to 15 kW and operating at frequencies between 300 kHz and 790 kHz were surveyed. Electric field strengths up to 8 kV/m and magnetic field strengths up to 20 A/m were measured. 相似文献

在动物离心机上测定了7只轻度麻醉家免暴露于+G_Z时心、眼水平动脉压和心率的变化。+G_Z作用5-12s时、心水平动脉压(HABP)降至最低水平,然后开始代偿性回升。当+G_Z增大到一定值时,于加速度达峰值后,HABP降为0 mmHg、并在峰值后5.5±1.7s降到最大负值,继之代偿性升为正值,并常再度降为负值。我们称HABP的这种变化状态为“临界状态”。+G_Z暴露时,心率以两种型式发生改变:第一种,随着G值增大,心率发生不同程度增快,当加速度达某一G值时,心率突然减慢至2次/秒左右;第二种,当G值≥3时,在暴露过程中,心率逐渐减慢,并在某一G值,心率减慢到2次/秒左右。心率和HABP关系密切。当HABP达临界状态时,心率减慢至2次/秒左右并出现明显节律不整。以心率减慢到2次/秒左右作为家免+G_Z耐力终点是合适的,该指标规律性强,重复性好,实验方法对动物无损伤又易实施。按此标准,测得7只家免的+G_Z耐力为4.85±0.47G。 相似文献

Summary The presence of house dust mites and storage mites in dumpsters was investigated in 3 different areas of Venice hinterland. The aim of this study was to find a relationship between some reported respiratory symptoms among 6 workers who were responsible for moving the dumpsters to the truck and the bio-aerosol released from such operation. These symptoms were closely related to the work and after allergological evaluation we found sensitisation to house dust mites in all 6 employees. The mine exposure in the workplace was assessed by a standardized sampling and analysis of dust obtained after brushing the inside surfaces of dumpsters. In 50% of the specimens (10/20) we found mites belonging to the following families: Pyroglyphidae (Dermatophagoides spp.), Acaridae (Acarus siro) and a lower amount of Cheyletidae (Cheyletus spp.). An indirect test (guanine test) was also performed and gave positivity in 16 dust samples (80%). The insides of dumpsters showed to be an optimal environment for mites survival and reproduction because of cracks and grooves on the walls, the high humidity level and the presence of mould. These mites probably come from dwelling places and other environments (markets, slaughters-houses, farms, etc.). This suggests that mites allergens can be released during rubbish discharging from the dumpsters and represent a possible risk for the employees. 相似文献

Summary The results of a study aimed at the identification of treatment optima for triploidy induction in recently fertilised Oreochromis niloticus L. eggs by altering the intensity, duration and timing of application of pressure, heat and cold shocks are reported. Preliminary, but not directly comparable, trials suggested the following treatments to be close to the individual agent optima. Pressure: 8,000 psi 2-min duration applied 9 min after fertilisation (a.f.); heat: 41 °C, 3.5-min duration applied 5 min a.f., cold: 9°C, 30-min duration applied 7 min a.f. In a directly comparable trial in which the eggs of eight different females were separately exposed to the optimum shocks listed above, individual triploid yields were more variable following cold shocks and mean triploid yields were, therefore, higher following pressure and heat shock. These and other results obtained are presented and the light they shed on the timing of the second meiotic division in this species is discussed. 相似文献

Summary Purified antifreeze proteins (AFPs) from the larvae of the beetle Dendroides canadensis do not produce the high levels of antifreeze activity seen in the hemolymph of overwintering larvae, even when the purified AFPs are assayed at very high concentrations. However, addition of certain proteins or agar (at concentrations sufficiently low that the gel state does not result) to the Dendroides AFP resulted in a 2–3-fold increase in activity. A 70-kDa protein with AFP-activating capabilities was purified from Dendroides larvae. Addition of this endogenous activator protein to a 4 mg·ml-1 solution of AFP increased the activity of the AFPs to values comparable to those of the hemolymph of overwintering larvae. Data derived from a modified immunoblot technique demonstrate that the activators bind to the AFP, or vice versa. Formation of this association must allow the AFP to block ice crystal growth by binding to the surface of potential seed crystals in the normal fashion. However, because the AFP-activator complex is much larger than the AFP alone, the complex probably blocks a greater surface area of the crystal and is thus a more efficient antifreeze.Abbreviations

Cold shock and heat shock: a comparison of the protection generated by brief pretreatment at less severe temperatures 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Abstract Brief exposure to low (0o C) or high (40o C) temperature elicits a protective response that prevents injury when the flesh fly, Sarcophaga crassipalpis Macquart, is subjected to more severe cold (-10o C) or heat (45o C). Both the low and high temperature responses were found in all developmental stages of the fly, but were most pronounced in the pupal and pharate adult stages. The protective responses generated by brief exposure to 0 or 40o C appear similar in that both result in a rapid acquisition of cold or heat tolerance and a loss of protection after the flies are returned to 25o C. The protection generated by chilling is obvious within 10 min of exposure to 0o C while a 30 min exposure to 40o C is required to induce the high temperature protection. High temperature protects against cold shock injury within a narrow range (around 36o C) but we have no evidence that low temperature can protect against heat injury. We previously demonstrated that the rapid increase in cold tolerance correlates with concomitant increases in glycerol concentration, but in this study we found no significant elevation in glycerol in heat-shocked flies. Seven male students were studied to observe the effects of acute cold exposure (at 10°C for 60 min) on erythrocyte concentrations of glycolytic intermediates in summer and in winter. The subjects shivered slightly but frankly in both experiments. Significant decreases were observed in the concentrations of pyruvate and lactate during body cooling in summer, but not in winter. The lactate concentration remained significantly reduced 15 min after cold exposure. After 60 min of cold exposure in summer, a negative crossover point appeared to exist between phosphoenolpyruvate and pyruvate and erythrocyte pyruvate kinase activity showed a significant decrease. No seasonal difference was observed in the initial control values of the intermediates measured. From these results and the fact that glucose, pyruvate and lactate are evenly distributed between erythrocytes and plasma, it is likely that erythrocytes and skeletal muscles need less fuel substrate, glucose during cold exposure in winter than in summer, suggesting that an increased economy of energy for homeostasis is achieved. 相似文献

The lysosomal enzyme alpha-mannosidase-1 is one of the earliest developmentally controlled gene products in Dictyostelium discoideum. Although this enzyme is synthesized throughout the first 20 h of development, it is not required for complete morphogenesis, since structural gene (manA) mutants lacking activity develop normally. We isolated six strains deficient in alpha-mannosidase-1 activity which, unlike structural gene mutants, fail to aggregate. Fruiting revertants of these strains accumulate wild-type levels of alpha-mannosidase-1 activity, suggesting that both the enzymatic and morphological defects are caused by single mutations in nonstructural genes essential for early development. Direct genetic evidence for mutations outside of the structural gene was obtained by complementation analysis. We used alpha-mannosidase-1-specific monoclonal antibodies to analyze the biochemical defects in these mad (alpha-mannosidase-1-deficient) mutants. All mad mutants show a significantly reduced relative rate of enzyme precursor biosynthesis. The mad-404 mutation results in a complete lack of precursor biosynthesis, as well as a lack of functional alpha-mannosidase-1 mRNA. In some cases, however, the enzymatic defect results from improper post-translational modification which affects precursor processing. We conclude that a small number of aggregation-essential genes are involved in regulating the synthesis, modification, and processing of alpha-mannosidase-1 during development. 相似文献
